Elected as a Democrat to the One Hundredth and to the fifteen succeeding Congresses. Served until her death on March 16, 2018 (January 3, 1987-March 16, 2018). Chair, Committee on Rules (One Hundred Tenth and One Hundred Eleventh Congresses). Died on March 16, 2018, in Washington, D. C. Remains were cremated.
