Regional coordinator for New York department of state, 1976-1979. Coordinator, regional office of New York lieutenant governor, 1979-1982. Member of the New York state assembly, 1982-1986. Elected as a Democrat to the One Hundredth and to the fifteen succeeding Congresses. Served until her death on March 16, 2018 (January 3, 1987-March 16, 2018). Chair, Committee on Rules (One Hundred Tenth and One Hundred Eleventh Congresses). Died on March 16, 2018, in Washington, D. C. Remains were cremated.
