Biography
A Senator from Ohio. Born in Royal Oak, Mich. , August 25, 1967. Graduated Montpelier High School, Montpelier, Ohio, 1985. B. A. , education, University of Dayton, 1989. M. A. , communications, University of Dayton, 1992. Vice president for economic development, Dayton area chamber of commerce. Member of the Ohio house of representatives, 2001-2009, serving as speaker of the house, 2005-2009. Member of the Ohio state senate, 2009-2011. Ohio secretary of state, 2011-2019. Lieutenant governor of Ohio, 2019-2025. Appointed as a Republican to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of J. D. Vance for the term ending January 3, 2029. Took the oath of office on January 21, 2025.
