Unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the One Hundred Twelfth Congress in 2010. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourteenth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2015-January 3, 2023). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Eighteenth Congress in 2022, but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination for Georgia secretary of state.
