Minority leader, 2013-2016. Elected as a New Progressive to the One Hundred Fifteenth Congress to a four-year term in 2016 and reelected to the succeeding four-year term in 2020 and served until her resignation on January 1, 2025 (January 3, 2017-January 1, 2025). Caucused with the Republican Party. Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Nineteenth Congress to a four-year term in 2024, but was elected Governor of Puerto Rico.
