Graduate studies, Trinity College, Hartford, Conn. United States Army, 1969-1971. State and federal aid coordinator and administrative assistant to board of chosen freeholders, Morris County, N. J. , 1972. Board of chosen freeholders, Morris County, N. J. , 1974-1983, director, 1980. Member, New Jersey commission on capital budgeting and planning. Member of the New Jersey state general assembly, 1983-1994. Member of the Morris County, N. J. , Republican Committee. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourth and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-January 3, 2019). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Sixteenth Congress in 2018. Chair, Committee on Appropriations (One Hundred Fifteenth Congress).
