Reelected in 2012, and again in 2018, and served from January 3, 2007, to January 3, 2025. Vice chair, Joint Economic Committee (One Hundred Thirteenth Congress). Chair, Joint Economic Committee (One Hundred Twelfth Congress), Special Committee on Aging (One Hundred Seventeenth and One Hundred Eighteenth Congresses). Was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Senate in 2024.
