A. , St. Bonaventure University, St. Bonaventure, N. Y. , 1970. United States Peace Corps, 1970-1972. Business executive. Member of the Syracuse, N. Y. , common council, 1977-1985, president, 1985-1988. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred First and to the nine succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1989-January 3, 2009). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Eleventh Congress in 2008.
