D. , University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Tex. , 1979. Physician. Assistant professor, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Tex. City council, Houston, Tex. , 2002-2006. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Ninth Congress, by special election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Thomas DeLay (November 13, 2006-January 3, 2007). Unsuccessful write-in candidate for the 110th Congress in 2006. Unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the One Hundred Eleventh Congress in 2008.
