Chairman, Washington County, Pa. , board of commissioners, 1980-1994. Elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Fourth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-January 3, 2003). Unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the One Hundred Eighth Congress in 2002. Died on July 10, 2011, in Monongahela, Pa. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township, Washington County, Pa.
