Senate in the November 4, 2014, special election to the unexpired portion of the term ending January 3, 2017, left vacant by the resignation of Thomas Coburn. Took the oath of office on January 3, 2015. Reelected in 2016, and again in 2022 for the term ending January 3, 2029. Vice-chair, Republican Conference (2025-).
