Attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Mo. , 1967-1970. Business owner. Member of the Iowa state senate, 1996-2002. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Eighth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2003-January 3, 2021). Unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the One Hundred Seventeenth Congress in 2020.  .
