Biography
A Representative from Georgia. Born in Bryan, Brazos County, Tex. , April 24, 1955. Graduated from Clarke Central High School, Athens, Ga. , 1973. Attended Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich. , 1973-1974. A. B. , University of Georgia, Athens, Ga. , 1978. Business executive. Member of the Georgia state house of representatives, 1985-1993. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Third and to the ten succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1993-January 3, 2015). Unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the United States Senate in 2014.
