Judge, Court of Common Pleas of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, 1983-1991. Prosecutor, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, 1991-1998. Elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Sixth and to the four succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1999-August 20, 2008). Chair, Committee on Standards of Official Conduct (One Hundred Tenth Congress). Died on August 20, 2008, in Cleveland, Ohio. Remains were cremated.
