Louisa County commonwealth attorney, 2008-2012. Member of the Virginia state senate, 2012-2016. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fifteenth Congress (January 3, 2017-January 3, 2019). Was not a candidate for reelection in the One Hundred Sixteenth Congress in 2018.
