Chair, Ventura County, Calif. , Association of Governments, 1983. Elected as a Republican to the One Hundredth and to the twelve succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1987-January 3, 2013). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress in 2012.
