Gun Ballistics Safety Act of 2001 - Requires the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to: (1) establish a National Firearms Ballistics Database; (2) prescribe the type of ballistics information required by the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to be provided to the Database; (3) ensure that the information in the Database is made available upon request to any law enforcement agency or officer; and (4) notify each licensed manufacturer and the chief law enforcement officer of each State upon establishment of the Database.
Amends the Brady Act to require that firearms manufacturers provide ballistics information to the Database within 30 days after manufacturing a firearm. Sets penalties for violations, including license revocation.
