Status: failed. Latest action: February 9, 2026.
Transferable landowner hunting licenses-requirements.
This bill would place conditions on the issuance and transferability of landowner hunting licenses. The bill would allow landowners to use or transfer not more than two hunting licenses per eligible species during a calendar year. To be eligible to use or transfer a landowner hunting license, the resident landowner must operate a farming or ranching operation within the state, have a farming or ranching operation classified as agricultural land by the county assessor and make a minimum annual gross income of $10,000 from the sale of agricultural commodities. Resident landowners would be permitted to transfer landowner hunting licenses to any person who qualifies for a hunting license within the state. This bill would provide a sunset date for these requirements of June 30, 2031. This bill would also require the Game and Fish Commission to promulgate rules.
