Under the federal Mineral Leasing Act, 50% of all money received from sales, bonuses, royalties, and rentals from federal mineral leasing is distributed to the states where the federal lands or deposits are located, excluding Alaska who receives 90%. This bill is a joint resolution from the Wyoming Legislature requesting Congress to introduce a bill and enact law to increase the state of Wyoming's share of federal mineral royalties from 50% to 87.5%.
