AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 2; Title 4; Title 5; Title 6; Title 7; Title 8; Title 12 and Title 49, relative to public office.
ON APRIL 16, 2026, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENTS #1 AND 2, AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 2319, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 c hanges this bill's effective date from upon becoming a law to January 1, 2027. AMENDMENT #2 exempts county employees serving on a county commission on January 1, 2027, without regard to the expiration date of such employee's term.
