Biography
A Representative from Maryland. Born in Cheverly, Prince George's County, Md. , September 21, 1955. B. A. , Furman University, Greenville, S. C. , 1977. M. B. A. , University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa. , 1985. Entrepreneur. Business owner. Unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the One Hundred Fifteenth Congress in 2016. Elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Sixteenth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2019-January 3, 2025). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Nineteenth Congress in 2024, but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the United States Senate.
