Biography
A Representative from Idaho. Born in Ogden, Utah, October 7, 1940. Attended public schools in Ogden. Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to New Zealand, 1960-1962. B. S. , Weber State College, 1965. M. S. , Utah State University, 1968. Graduate studies, Colorado College, 1968. Taught history at Ricks College, 1969-1984. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-ninth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1985-January 3, 1993). Was not a candidate for renomination in 1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress but was an unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate. Unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundred Sixth Congress in 1998. Unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundred Fourteenth Congress in 2014.
