Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Eighth Congress and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2003-January 3, 2009). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Eleventh Congress in 2008. Convicted on June 11, 2013, of conspiracy, money laundering, fraud, racketeering, and false statements. Full pardon granted by President Donald J. Trump on January 19, 2021.
