Scientific exchange fellow, United States National Academy of Sciences-Soviet Academy of Sciences, Baikov Institute, Moscow, U. S. S. R. , 1967-1968. Assistant professor, California State Polytechnic University, and contract consultant, private industry, 1968-1969. Metallurgy professor and assistant to the vice president for research, Lehigh University, 1969-1976. Manager of research program development, Lehigh University, 1976-1978. Engineering consultant to industry. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-sixth and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1979-January 3, 1993). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress. Is a resident of Coopersburg, Pa.
