Biography
A Representative from Iowa. Born in Grinnell, Iowa, April 15, 1943. Attended University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa, 1961-1965. LL. B. , University of Iowa Law School, Iowa City, Iowa, 1968. Lawyer, private practice. Assistant Black Hawk county attorney, Black Hawk county, Iowa, 1969-1970. City attorney, Evansdale, Iowa, 1972-1973. Adjunct professor, University of Northern Iowa, 1978-1981. Elected as a Democrat to the One Hundredth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1987-January 3, 1993). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Third Congress in 1992. Unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States House of Representatives in 1994 and 2002.
