A Representative from New York. Born in St. Lawrence County, N. Y. , April 26, 1944. Attended the public schools of Colton and Canton, N. Y. Graduated, Hugh C. Williams High School, Canton, N. Y. , 1962. B. B. A. , University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind. , 1966. J. D. , Albany Law School, Albany, N. Y. , 1973. United States Marine Corps, captain, 1966-1970. Admitted to the New York bar in 1974. Lawyer, private practice. Elected, St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators, 1973-1975. Member of the New York state assembly, 1976-1980. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-seventh and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1981-January 3, 1993). Was not a candidate for renomination to the One Hundred Third Congress in 1992. Professor, Naval War College, Newport, R. I. , 1993-1994. Private advocate. Business executive. Died on November 20, 2012, in Hedgesville, W. Va. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
