A Representative from New York. Born in Oceanside, Nassau County, N. Y. , March 23, 1931. Graduated from Malverne High School, Malverne, N. Y. , 1948. B. A. , Hofstra College, Hempstead, N. Y. , 1952. LL. B. , Cornell University Law School, Ithaca, N. Y. , 1957. Served in United States Naval Reserve, 1952-1954, during Korean Conflict, with rank of lieutenant. Admitted to the New York bar in 1957 and commenced practice in Lynbrook. Associate police justice, East Rockaway, N. Y. , 1960-1962. Confidential law secretary to New York Supreme Court Justice, 1960-1962. Member of the New York state senate, 1962-1970. Executive committeeman, East Rockaway, N. Y. , 1962-1984. Delegate, New York state Republican convention, 1968. Delegate, Republican National Convention, 1972. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-second and to the ten succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1971-January 3, 1993). Was not a candidate for renomination to the One Hundred Third Congress in 1992. Died on June 11, 2012, in Arlington, Va. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
