John R. Kasich

Administrative assistant to State senator, 1975-1977. Elected to the Ohio Legislature, 1979-1982. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-eighth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1983-January 3, 2001). Chairman, Committee on the Budget (One Hundred Fourth through One Hundred Sixth Congresses). Was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Seventh Congress. Unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in 2016. Governor of Ohio, 2011-2019.
