Biography
A Representative from Georgia. Born in Tarboro, Edgecombe County, N. C. , August 30, 1941. Graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Portsmouth, Va. , 1959. Attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N. C. , 1961-1964. Professional entertainer. Unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundredth Congress in 1986. Elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred First and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 1989-January 3, 1993). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Third Congress in 1992. Unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundred Eighth Congress in Virginia in 2002.
