A. , Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, 1971. J. D. , Wayne State University, Detroit, 1974. Admitted to the Michigan bar in 1975 and commenced practice in Detroit. Served in the Michigan house of representatives, 1975-1980. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-seventh and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1981-January 3, 1993). Was not a candidate for renomination in 1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress. Is a resident of Harper Woods, Mich.
