President, Arkansas Lumber Dealers Association and Southwestern Lumberman's Association. Delegate to Republican National Convention, 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980 and 1984. State chairman, Arkansas Republican State Central committee, 1964-1966. Elected as a Republican to the Ninetieth and to the twelve succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1967-January 3, 1993). Was not a candidate for renomination in 1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress. Died on April 1, 2015, in Springdale, Ark. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, Ark.
