Bernard J. Dwyer

A Representative from New Jersey. Born in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, N. J. , January 24, 1921. Attended the public schools. Attended Rutgers University, Newark, N. J. United States Navy, 1940-1945. Insurance broker. Member, Edison (N. J. ) Township Council, 1958-1969. Mayor, Edison, 1969-1973. Served in the New Jersey senate, 1974-1980. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-seventh and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1981-January 3, 1993). Was not a candidate for renomination to the One Hundred Third Congress in 1992. Died on October 31, 1998. Interment in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, N. J.
