Delegate, Republican National Conventions, 1960, 1968 and 1984. Elected as a Republican to the Eighty-ninth and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1965-June 21, 1988). Died on June 21, 1988, in Knoxville, Tenn. Interment in Duncan Cemetery, Huntsville, Tenn.
