A Representative from California. Born in New York City, April 3, 1933. Attended parochial schools. Graduated from Loyola (Calif. ) High School, 1950. Attended Loyola University, 1950-1953. Served to captain in the United States Air Force, 1953-1958. Air Force Reserve, 1958-1975. Commercial pilot. Broadcaster-journalist. Television producer. Associated with KHJ-TV and KTLA-TV, 1967-1973. Delegate, Republican National Convention, 1976, 1980, 1984 and 1988. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-fifth, Ninety-sixth, and Ninety-seventh Congresses (January 3, 1977-January 3, 1983). Was not a candidate for reelection in 1982 but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the United States Senate. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-ninth and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1985-January 3, 1997). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fifth Congress and unsuccessfully contested the election of Loretta Sanchez. Unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundred Sixth Congress.
