Graduated from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass. LL. B. , Boston College Law School, Chestnut Hill, Mass. , 1949. Machinist. Lawyer, private practice. United States Navy, 1942-1944. Member of the Massachusetts state senate, 1951-1958. Parliamentarian, Republican State conventions, 1956 and 1958. Delegate to Republican National Conventions, 1960, 1964, and 1968. Elected as a Republican to the Eighty-sixth and to the sixteen succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1959-February 8, 1991). Died on February 8, 1991, in Bethesda, Md. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield Mass.
