To direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to issue guidance for the safe prescribing of opioids for the treatment of acute pain.

This bill requires the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to issue guidance for the safe prescribing of opioids for the treatment of acute pain. (Opioids are drugs with effects similar to opium, such as certain pain medications.)
