Sanchez-Young Social Security Disability Insurance for the Terminally Ill Act
This bill amends title II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act to eliminate the waiting period for disability insurance benefits for terminally ill individuals with a life expectancy of 12 months or less, as determined by a primary care provider, medical specialist, or other qualified provider, or who would otherwise suffer undue hardship by application of a waiting period.
