Expressing the sense of the Congress that raising awareness and working to prevent suicide in the United States are worthy goals, and supporting the goals and ideals of National Survivors of Suicide Day, observed annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Expresses the sense of Congress that: (1) National Survivors of Suicide Day provides a special opportunity to educate the American people about suicide and to work to prevent suicide; (2) it is appropriate to mourn the 29,000 victims of suicide each year and to praise the courage and strength of the surviving loved ones of a victim of suicide; (3) national and community organizations and private sector supporters should be recognized for their work in promoting awareness of suicide and providing treatment for depression; and (4) Congress supports the goals and ideals of National Survivors of Suicide Day.
