School Support and Improvement Act of 2001

School Support and Improvement Act of 2001 - Requires each State educational agency (SEA) to reserve a specified portion of funds under title I, Helping Disadvantaged Children Meet High Standards, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 for FY 2002 through 2008 to carry out SEA responsibilities for: (1) assessment and LEA and school improvement; and (2) statewide assistance for LEA and school support and improvement. Requires an adequate percentage of that reservation to be passed to LEAs.

Prescribes requirements and priorities regarding SEA use of school assistance teams for schools: (1) subject to corrective action; (2) identified as in need of improvement; or (3) failing to make adequate yearly progress for one year, where such team placement is appropriate and requested by the LEA.
