To amend title 49, United States Code, to limit the Federal Aviation Administration's authority to establish examination requirements for pilots, other than pilots involved in commercial operations.
Amends Federal aviation law to revise certain requirements regarding the issuance of airman certificates to limit to certificates for commercial operations the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator's authority to examine whether a pilot is physically able to perform duties related to being a pilot. Authorizes the Administrator, in the case of noncommercial airman certificates, to investigate only whether the individual is qualified for the position.
