Water districts-funds for maintenance projects.
This bill authorizes irrigation districts, watershed improvement districts and water conservancy districts to direct a portion of their annual district funding for major maintenance for any aging irrigation infrastructure projects. The bill requires amounts assessed for major maintenance projects to be held in a separate account and authorizes funds in the separate account to be invested with the state treasurer in local government investment equity pools.
