Summary

Newborn screening; evaluation of disorders for inclusion. Directs the Department of Health to conduct evaluations of disorders not included in the federal Recommended Uniform Screening Panel if such disorders have (i) an available assay for newborn screening and (ii) a treatment in phase III clinical trials or approved for a rare condition by the federal Food and Drug Administration. The bill directs the Department to develop a schedule of evaluation for such disorders and directs the Department to conduct such evaluation for several specific disorders.
