ON MARCH 23, 2026, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2361, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 r ewrites this bill to require TACIR , with the assistance of relevant state agencies, to conduct a comprehensive study on public school administered early childhood education programs in this state. The full text of this amendment specifies six components that must be included in the study. This amendment requires TACIR to submit its report and recommendations to the education committee of the senate and the committee of the house of representatives having jurisdiction over public school admi nistered early childhood education programs no later than September 1, 2027.
