Summary

ON APRIL 9, 2026, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1984, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 requires TACIR to include in the study a report on caseloads of assistant district attorneys general in each judicial district, including all of the following:  The number of cases indicted or charged .  The number of cases that go to trial .  The number of cases that result in a conviction and suspended sentence, probation, or diversion .  A comparison of the caseloads for assistant district attorneys general in judicial districts of similar populations.
