AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4 and Title 8, Chapter 7, relative to assistant district attorneys general.
ON APRIL 9, 2026, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1984, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 requires TACIR to include in the study a report on caseloads of assistant district attorneys general in each judicial district, including all of the following: The number of cases indicted or charged . The number of cases that go to trial . The number of cases that result in a conviction and suspended sentence, probation, or diversion . A comparison of the caseloads for assistant district attorneys general in judicial districts of similar populations.
