AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, relative to leave for teachers.
ON APRIL 6, 2026, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 2343, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 e stablishes caps on the amount of sick leave that public school teachers may accumulate during a year, as follows: (1) Up to eight days per year for employees with 10 -month contracts ; (2) U p to nine days per year for employees with 11 -month contracts ; and (3) U p to ten days per year for employees with 12 -month contracts . Teachers will continue to accumulate sick live at the present law rate of one day for each month employed.
