Summary

This bill would require carriers that provide coverage for emergency medical services to reimburse care provided on scene, care provided by a community paramedicine program and transportation of a patient to an appropriate destination for care other than a hospital emergency department. It would also direct the Department of Health and Human Services to adopt rules related to this legislation and to allocate sufficient funds under the MaineCare program to support the reimbursements required by this legislation.
