Summary

This act proposes an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 2022, relating to Tuscaloosa County, to: (1) authorize the full-time mayor of any municipality within the county to participate in the Employees’ Retirement System of Alabama upon the same terms as any other employee; (2) authorize current mayors to purchase service credit for time served in the current office; and (3) prohibit any person from participating in both a supernumerary program and the RSA based on the same service.
