A Representative from Illinois. Born in Casey, Clark County, Ill. , December 26, 1922. Graduated from Urbana High School, Urbana, Ill. , 1940. LL. B. , University of Illinois, 1947. J. D. , University of Illinois Law School, 1948. Served in the United States Army Paratroops, 1943-1946, attained the rank of captain. Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1948 and commenced practice in Chicago with the S. E. C. Lawyer, private practice. Instructor in economics, University of Illinois, 1947-1948, and business finance, Northwestern University, 1949-1950. Securities commissioner of Illinois, 1953-1955. Assistant secretary of State, 1955-1957. Financial vice president, secretary, and treasurer, hospital supply company, 1965-1966. Delegate, Illinois State Republican conventions, 1951-1973. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-third Congress (January 3, 1973-January 3, 1975). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninety-fourth Congress in 1974. Unsuccessful candidate for election to the Ninety-fifth Congress in 1976. Is a resident of Glenview, Ill. , and Marco Island, Fla. Died on September 23, 2017, in Glenview, Ill.
