A Senator from Minnesota. Born in Albuquerque, N. Mex. , March 4, 1958. B. A. , Stanford University, 1980. M. B. A. , Dartmouth College, Tuck School of Business, 1984. Marketing consultant and executive. Chief of staff to Minneapolis mayor R. T. Rybak. Chief of staff to Minnesota governor Mark Dayton. Lieutenant governor of Minnesota 2015-2018. Appointed as a Democrat to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Al Franken, took the oath of office on January 3, 2018. Subsequently elected in a special election on November 6, 2018, for the remainder of the term. Reelected in 2020 for the term ending January 3, 2027.
