A Representative from Minnesota. Born in Fargo, Cass County, N. Dak. , February 8, 1930. Graduated from Moorhead High School, Moorhead, Minn. , 1948. Farmer. Member, Barnesville, Minn. , school board, 1976-1977. Member, Minnesota state house of representatives, 1966-1975. Delegate, Minnesota state Republican conventions, 1964-1968. Elected as a Republican to the Ninety-fifth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Robert Selmer Bergland, and reelected to the six succeeding Congresses (February 22, 1977-January 3, 1991). Unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Second Congress in 1990. Was a resident of Barnesville, Minn. Died on July 2, 2013, in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Interment at Comstock Lutheran Cemetery, near Comstock, Minn.
