A Representative from Pennsylvania. Born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa. , January 24, 1920. Attended St. Anne's Parochial School, Philadelphia. Graduated from Northeast Catholic High School, Philadelphia, 1939. Attended St. Joseph's College, Philadelphia, 1940-1942. Served in the United States Army, sergeant, 1942-1945. Accountant. Administrative assistant to United States Congressman James Byrne, 1965-1970. Served in the Pennsylvania legislature, 1970-1981. Elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-seventh Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Raymond F. Lederer, (July 21, 1981-January 3, 1983). Unsuccessful candidate for renomination to the Ninety-eighth Congress in 1982. Democratic City chairman, Philadelphia, 1983-1986. Was a resident of Philadelphia, Pa. , until his death there on May 14, 1999. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.
